Is this allowed? TABU? Should I use a sex toy while pregnant? Always consult you Doctor regarding sex and pregnancy!

Should, could, would… all legitimate questions pregnant women want to know! The following are just a few opinions I think woman would like to know about using a sex toy while pregnant! When you are newly pregnant your hormones are just flying around like crazy. Morning sickness… who wants sex when you’re throwing up morning, noon, night! You’re extremely tired! Then it happens, you want sex morning, noon, night- you just can not get enough! (Well, this doesn’t happen to all women, but it did to me).

My first visit with my OB doctor, we discussed the changes that I was in store for! WOW! Overwhelming! So, after he gave me the 411 on pregnancy, I started in on the questions. Was sex allowed, what type of sex, and could I use toys (threw him for a loop with that question!!)

If you are not a High Risk Pregnancy- you should be able to continue most sexually practices and positions during the first trimester. There is no scientific research that the use of sex toys while pregnant is harmful- ASK your MD for clearance to have regular sexual intercourse and the use of sex toys!! Using an adult sex toy is another way of expressing your self sexually. The vibrations from your toys will not harm the placenta or the baby. Penetration should be of normal use.

Most sex positions are fine for the first trimester. After the first, your belly is slowly getting in the way, so here are some alternative ideas for you to keep up your sexual appetite…using a sex toy can only enhance your experience pregnant! The breasts become more and more sensitive so a nice lightly scented oil massage is very lovely, or a light gentle rubbing with vibrating bullet around the areola or clitoral area. Using a vibrator for external clitoral stimulation is great if you can not have intercourse- don’t forget to use pillows to support your back or legs while having sexual intercourse- this will make you more comfortable to try out new positions and ways to use your sex toys.

While your hormones are going crazy- do not forget the LUBE!!! Your body may need a little help in the moist department. If you to use lube, water-based lube is great!!! It is easy to clean up on sheets, washes off with a breeze, and is recommended with all your toys!

I hope you find this article helpful during your wonderful 9 months of pregnancy. You better get all the sex you can prior to Baby! After, baby, you will have more important things to consider than sex, also get plenty of sleep now!!!
